The Countdown Begins in Earnest

Tummy time
Flip to side
On my back

I've recently discovered something new: my legs. Not only can I flip over, I can virtually launch off of my legs from back to stomach. I do this often in my crib, and then I find myself in the unfortunate position of being wedged in the corner of the bed by the bumper. I usually need help extracting myself from this position. I found that I can even do that while someone is holding me, which makes it all the more challenging for them. As Shakira put it so eloquently, "These hips don't lie." (Trust me, you want to click on this link.)

I also have convinced the world that I am an ambi-turner! For most of my life I turned only left, but now my right side is active as ever. I dare say I could be a male model! Zoolander, watch out.

If you click on the Jerusalem Marathon website, the seconds continue to tick away without abate. Time for training is almost over (scary!) and that is a daunting thought for mommy, who is sitting here taking dictation in her running clothes and sneakers, ready to go out and hit the road as soon as I finish writing.

So with just 25 days away (23 if you want to be technical and far less actual running days than that), would you please say a few prayers regarding the following topics:

  1. Weather on the day of the marathon: not too dry, not too wet (as in no rain!), not too hot, not too cold. Somewhere in the perfect middle so dehydration and/or frostbite can be averted!
  2. No injuries for mommy and health for all of us. With just a few weeks left, so far so good. But please pray for all of mommy's bones, muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons, etc to be protected and healthy while she pounds the pavement. And that sickness stays far away from us.
  3. Safety from Israeli drivers, especially the Egged buses that take off like NASA rockets down these narrow streets, as mommy trains these last few weeks.
  4. Sleep. That involves me - pray that I revert to my "angel baby" ways of sleeping through the night so that mommy can be rested for the marathon :)
Double thumbing it, one of my many honed skills.

There is Lucie in the distance.
